Pop Art

Making a decent round of popcorn is actually quite an art and often doesn't quite match the standards of the 'movie popcorn' we've all grown to love. Over the years we've seen some popcorn making machines which haven't made the mark – forget the microwave option, its just not the same, and the 'hot air' poppers leave the important oil ingredient out of the process which leaves your popcorn tasting more like rice cakes than popcorn.
The West Bend 82306 Stir Crazy 6-Quart Popcorn Popper comes to the popcorn party by producing up to 5.5 litres of perfectly popped corn, using only one tablespoon of oil per 1/4 cup corn. The other cool thing about this popper is that the clear plastic cover turns into a bowl once the popping is done. Nice touch.

I had this popcorn popper as a joke Christmas present from my husband and it is absolutely brilliant! I have to admit I was very impressed by the beautifully wrapped, massive, heavy present box. When I unwrapped and discovered the popper I really didnt know how to react – I gave him a new Nintendo Wii for Christmas, complete with games, extra controlers, etc.- as I was at the same time shocked and hoping it was a joke, but thinking the popper was actually quite cool. I have to say it is absolutely the coolest and most used gadget in our kitchen (after the coffee machine) since then – and the kids love it too
PS. Did you know there are no Weight Watchers “points” on popcorn? (!!)
