Memory lane

Did you know google saves all of your google chats? Think about that for a moment.
Shane and Andrew, the founding partners of Yuppiechef.co.za, stumbled across this chat earlier today. At this point, Yuppiechef was still a twinkle in e-commerce’s eye:
31 May 2006:8:18 PM
Shane: hey geyser
Andrew: hey
Shane: what you doing?
Andrew: downloading photos and e-mailing. and you?
Shane: looking at yuppiechef terms & conditions
Andrew: fun fun fun
Shane: yep
Andrew: what are your latest yuppiechef emotions?
Shane: what do you mean?
Andrew: amped, down, neutral?
Shane: 50% amped. holding out to see this thing happen. you?
Andrew: it varies
Shane: yes
Andrew: seems so much harder than our last site
Shane: how many hours do you think are left before launching? obviously the marketing is a whole other story
Andrew: probably depends if we want to launch with a bang or ease into it. there is lots that could happen. but some could happen after we go live
Shane: a bang would be nice. i think we need to have a bit of a strat meeting sometime soon
Andrew: ye
Shane: i think we have to be realistic as well… my feeling is in reality it will take time to grow, but we can still take advantage of a launch to create a little hype in our favour
Andrew: ye
If you were to ask Shane about his Yuppiechef emotions now, it would be safe to describe them as amped. And if you ask Andrew a question, he tends to say more than just ‘ye‘ (and according to Jon Cherry, he’s a man worth listening to).
While we’re on this lane of memories, check out these first versions of the Yuppiechef website:

Thank you google, for reminding us of of our roots, and that there was once a lady with sunglasses on our homepage.
We leave you, with one of our earliest banner adverts, which can only be described as metrosexual:
