Beach baguette inspiration

Baguettes on the beach, sounds kind of Italian. But a great idea for right here on our South African doorstep, where we get to enjoy, lie on and eat upon some of the world’s finest beaches.
Baguettes are perfect fodder for a sandy outing – arm yourself with some seasonal and fresh produce, pick up some bread from a local bakery, some cheese at a fresh produce market (see EatIn’s Top 10 marekts in SA) et voila.
Seared beef, caramelised onion, slow roasted cherry tomatoes, watercress and mustard
1 baguette or 2 smaller ciabattas
250g seared beef fillet
1 punnet vine ripped tomatoes (fresh or slow roasted)
1/2 cup caramelized onions
120g watercress
4 tablespoons dijon mustard
Another two winning combinations are Parma ham, fresh fig, rocket and gorgonzola and Tomato, brie, avocado and basil pesto.
Delightful.
