It’s a wrap. A big thank you to all the wonderful people who entered our cupcake baking competition. You made choosing a single winner both delightful – and difficult.

If you have been following the competition and have seen some of the entries we put up on facebook and the blog, you might have anticipated that our winner is Angel Swemmer – The Cupcake Lady – for her strawberry-vanilla softserve cupcakes.

Her very original cupcakes jogged considerable childhood nostalgia at Yuppiechef HQ. They got us thinking back to lazy days on the beach, sunshine, ice-cream trucks with tinkly music… The two-tone icing was rather fantastic. And to top it all off she’s wearing a cupcake apron. She is indeed, The Cupcake Lady. For her efforts, Angel wins a copy of ‘Bake‘ by Tina Bester and a tea-for-two voucher for Queen of Tarts.

Well done, from all of us.

    I got to taste one of those exact soft-serve cupcakes last Sunday and it was totally divine ;) Such a well-deserved win!

    I also had the privilege of eating one of those exact cupcakes (after fighting tooth and nail!) and they are truly divine. I may even have insulted my aunt by choosing Angel’s cupcakes over hers :)
