Cube Jigger

Designer Josh Owen has put some thought into redefining the common bar/cocktail measure.
According to the designer: “the design of the Aluminum Cube Jigger evolved from an experiment to compress the six most common liquid measures used to mix alcoholic drinks, into the smallest possible dispenser. the form was inspired by traditional box-shaped, Japanese sake cups, from which sake is sipped from the corners.”
Nemo Whisks

We thought these Nemo Whisks were a nice change from the standard whisk designs. They kind of remind us of the brightly coloured fishing lures that we once used when we tried our hand at a bit of fishing.
The capitalist pig’s saucepan

This totally over-the-top £100 000 saucepan may be just a little too much, even for us here at Yuppiechef.
The 11in pot, which has solid gold handles studded with 200 diamonds, is made by German cookware firm Fissler. Wealthy cooks can pick one up made to order at Harrods for £100,000.
It works just like any other, more reasonably priced kitchen utensil, but just costs about a 1000-times more. Buy it only if you’re completely potty…or your last name is Beckham.
But is it art?

ART & COOK have taken the art of kitchen tool design to a new level – these amazing tools, that when viewed in their black and white collection have an almost victorian, gothic feel which we find rather appealing. They also come in an assortment of bright funky colours. The Yuppiechef team is doing some [...]
Skull Toaster

We came across this Skull toaster a while ago and couldn't resist not sharing it with you. It works exactly the same as a normal toaster, the only difference being the way it toasts. So instead of the usual golden tan on your favourite white bread, you end up with the Jolly Roger! [...]

It's quite simple really – when you upgrade your old kitchen knives with a super sharp Global knife, this little box of tricks will become an essential item in your kitchen cupboard. [...]

V8 Braai
Posted on 11. Jul, 2007 by Jon in Kitchen Gear
Here an outdoor cooking appliance that Jeremy Clarkson-wannabes, instead of our usual Gordon Ramsey aspiring clientele, would really get hot for. It's a Chevy V8 engine block, which has been modified into a BBQ grill. No wood needed here, as you would expect everything runs on gas. Make of it what you will – but [...]
There’s a rat in the kitchen
Posted on 11. Jul, 2007 by Jon in News & Trends
We here at Yuppiechef are feeling extra nimble and light on our feet in anticipation for the next animated movie, from creative wundakinders; Pixar. The reason – it's called Ratatouille…and is all about cooking. Actually it's a story of a rat who loves to cook and ends up in a snappy French restaurant in [...]

Remember the fights you used to have as a kid (and still have) over the edges of your moms fab brownies? Well some clever people decided to think out of the cake tin and bring an end to school yard scraps by introducing a special edge to your baking – thanks to the BakersEdge and [...]
